Funeral services for James Willard Moss, age 84 of Cookeville, will be conducted on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery-North. Visitation will be held at Baxter Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00-9:00PM, all day Thursday, and Friday from 7:00AM until time of service.
Mr. Moss died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. James Willard Moss was born on October 14, 1927 in Putnam County, TN to the late Bill and Velma Gentry Moss. James worked in roofing and was a farmer. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Willie Lee “Bill” Moss, 2 Sons: James Lee and Carl Wayne Moss, Sister: Delsie Moss Francis, and two Brothers: Clarence and Carnel Moss.
He is survived by Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Willard Dale (Tawnya) Moss and Roy (Sally) Moss of Cookeville. Step-Mother: Odell Davison Moss of Cookeville. Brother: Billy Moss of Baxter, Grandchildren: Sally Herren, Roy Lynn Moss, Jr., Dakota Moss, Sissy Moss, Eli Moss, and Matt Newton.
Billy Moss, Roy Lynn Moss, Jr., William Moss, Donald Moss, Johnny Hale, Ken Peterson, Scott Matlock, and Matt Newton will serve as pallbearers.
