| Whitson Funeral Home was established in 1898 by Jeremiah "Jere" Whitson, located in the basement of Whitson Hardware Store, located on the City Square. The building currently being used was built in 1930. This structure was constructed solely for the use of funerals. The Whitson family sold the funeral home in the 1950's and the current owners, Leo and David Brown purchased Whitson Funeral Home and Baxter Funeral Home in 1972. It has always and still remains family owned and operated. Whitson Funeral Home is a full service funeral home, which provides cremation, and all types of funeral services and merchandise. Baxter Funeral Home is a Chapel located in Baxter, Tennessee. Whitson and Baxter Funeral Homes have a long and rich history in the Putnam County area. We are Dedicated to serving our families in their time of need. |
