  Funeral services for Hackie Newman will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Johnson and Bro. Charles Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitaion will be held on Friday from 1:00-9:00PM with a Masonic service at 7:00PM.

Mr. Newman passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Hackie Newman was born on April 16, 1931 in Cookeville,TN to the late William Haskell and Minnie Bell Lewis Newman. Hackie was a member of the JC's, Woodman of the World Club, a 53 year member of Al Meniah Shriners, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a avid Hunter, Fisherman,and Golfer. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.
