Graveside Services with military honors for Kenneth "Jack" F. Stewart will be conducted on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2:00PM at Stewart Cemetery on Mine Lick Creek Road with Bro. Charles Burgess officiating. A dinner and visitation will be held at the family's home following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Stewart passed away on September 18, 2009 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital-Warren Campus in Warren,Michigan. Kenneth "Jack" F. Stewart was born on August 6, 1926 in Tyrone,Oklahoma to the late Herman P. and Pearl W. Stewart. The family moved to Cookeville in 1935 and later to Michigan. His father, Herman, was a brick mason for many of the buildings still standing in Cookeville today.
After proudly serving in the United States Army during WWII in the 404th Infantry in the Philippines, Mr. Stewart lived in Michigan and worked as an assemblyman at Chrysler then retired in 1987 after 30years as a jig and fixture builder, from Midwest Wire in Ferdale,MI. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1269 in Mt. Clemens,MI.
Besides being a talented woodworker, enjoying working around his home and garden, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the company of his canine companion "Duffy". He also loved camping, bowling, and car trips with his wife and family.
