Funeral services for Melvin J. Whitefield will be condcuted on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Baxter Funeral Home with Bro. John Pippin officiating. Burial will follow at Mayanrd Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thurday from 5:00-9:00PM and Friday after 10:00AM until time of the service at 11:00AM at Baxter Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitefield passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the White County Community Hospital. Melvin J. Whitefield was born on March 28, 1940 in Putnam County,TN to the late Virgil and Annie Steele Whitefield. He worked for the Ford Motor Co. in Chicago for 30 years.
