James (Jim) Y. Burgess, 56, of Cookeville, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at his residence.
The family has chosen cremation. No formal services are planned.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, at Whitson Funeral Home.
Mr. Burgess was born Feb. 16, 1954, in Gary, Ind., to the late James D. and Tempest Holloway Burgess.
Mr. Burgess worked in maintenance for Cummins Corp.
His family includes his wife, Brenda Burgess of Cookeville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Chastity and Troy Perryman of Cookeville, Misty and Isaac Morales of Midland, Texas, Ashley and CW Anderson of Big Springs, Texas, and Lauren and Jay Connors of Brentwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Tonya Burgess of Cookeville; five sisters, Karoline Walker, Sunshine Dunn, Gail Hastings, Bobbie Allen and Vickie Jolley; and 12 grandchildren, Megan, Caitlan, Kambree and Cade Perryman, Gage Guadarrama, Trent, Blaine and Jackson Burgess, Tripp Morales, Lanee Bryand, Curtis Anderson and Braxton Fuschiardi.
